Biography Of John Kwame Duodu ( Sir John)

John Kwame Duodu was born on 9th March, 1987 to Mr. Richard Aboagye and Mrs. Annabella Agyemang Aboagye together with other four siblings, namely: Owusu Akyaw, Benedict Boakye, Rahel Adutwiwah Aboagye and Augustine Nkansah. Hestarted his childhood education at Kofiase Anyinasu D/A primary school in 1992.He later relocated to his hometown to live with his extended family in Offinso, where he attended Offinso Kokote Primary School from1992 to 1996.Mr. Duodu again moved from Offinso Kokote to Offinso Ahenkro to live with his grandmother where he attended Ahenkro D/A Basic School from 1996 to 1999. At class six(6), Duodu was appointed Boys’ Prefect from 1998-1999. In December 1999, he joined his Auntie and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Wiredu in Kumasi-Tanoso. At Tanoso, he attended Tanoso Adventist Preparatory School and Junior High School. In sports, he was a Goal-keeper from 1999 to 2003, Compound Overseer from 1999 to 2000 and Sports Prefect from 2002 to 2003. Mr. Duodu then joined his parents at Atwima Manhyia in the year 2001 till now.

 

 

After graduating from Tanoso Adventist Preparatory School (APS), he pursued his secondary Education at Bekwai SDA Senior High School from 2003 to 2006, where he read Business as a course. During his Secondary school days, he held the following positions: Nana Ameyaw House Dormitory A Room Captain (2003), Assistant Boys’ Prefect (2005-2006), General Secretary, Students’ Representative Council (SRC) (2005-2006) and Vice President, Ghana Red Cross Society – Bekwai SDA SHS link (2005-2006). Afterwards, he proceeded to Kumasi Polytechnic (now Kumasi Technical University) and obtained Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate in Accountancy (2007–2010).He was appointedthe Class Representative (Accountancy) – from 2009 to 2010 and also pursued Certificate in Computerized Accounting in the same institution from 2008 to 2009.

 

In the year 2014 to 2016, Mr. Duodu again furthered his Education to read BSc Administration (Accounting Option)atthe University of Education, Winneba(Kumasi Campus). He also had his Master of Business Administration Degree in Accounting in the same institution (2018-2020). He has to his credit, two publications in highly reputable journals to help improve the pool of knowledge in academia, namely, “Increasing market rewards for sustainability: a case of private nursing and midwifery Colleges in Ghana. Journal of Economics, Management and Trade.” and “Examining the economic interaction between liquidity and firms’ financial performance: evidence from the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE).Journal of Economics, Management and Trade.”

 

RELIGIOUS LIFE:
Mr. Duodu has been a faithful member of Tanoso Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church since 4th December, 1999. He is a very hardworking individual. He gives a great deal of effort and endurance to everything he does. He is industrious, diligent, patient and very tolerant. Because of his attribute of being hardworking, he learns quickly on new tasks assigned to him. He puts in extra-long hours in line of duties, maintains high standards at all times, plans and organizes his tasks to achieve results, takes initiative, identifies opportunities, highly focused and has the ability to maintain concentration and do not easily give up.

 

In terms of commitment and multitasking, Mr. Duodu has the quality of being dedicated to a cause. He is mostly obligated and imposes such restriction of freedom on himself in his line of duties. He has a strong belief in the President’s “Ghana Beyond Aid” so much that he is ever ready to work to help the President of Ghana realize this dream. Mr. Duodu can perform more than one task at a time. He is a Patron to the Church Choir, Member of Fund Raising and Educational Committees, Treasurer, Advisor to the Youth of the Church and the choir.

 

MARITAL STATUS:
Mr. Duodu got married on 21st September, 2018 to a young God-fearing lady Loreta Appiah, a nurse by Profession and blessed with two children namely: Jayden Oheneba Aboagye and Jason Ohene Gyan Aboagye.

Duodu worked and sometimes headed the following portfolios:

PHILANTHROPISM (HUMANITARIAN WORKS):
John Kwame Duodu is of the belief that ‘God owns it all’.He believes in giving back to thesociety and people around him andin the course of doing that always makes him happyanda fulfilled man. These are some of his achievements:
Education
1. He assisted 15 students with financial support to pursue tertiary education since 2013
2. He assisted more than 20 students with financial support to pursue secondary education since 2016
Infrastructure Development
1. He supported three houses financially to construct efficient drainage systems in 2020
2. He supported the Atwima Manhyia Chief palace renovation with funds in 2020
3. He supportedfinancially to construct the Manhyia Asuogya-Metiam access road project in 2020
4. He supportedto raise funds to construct the Manhyia Asuogya-Metiam road bridge in 2020
Sanitation
1. HeSupported financially in clearing (weeding) the Atwima Manhyia township refuse dump in 2020
Security
1. He supported in face-lifting the MTTD of the Ghana Police Service in Abuakwa-Ashanti
2. He donated towards the building and furnishing of Abuakwa Police Station
3. He helped, and is still helping the Abuakwa Police Service in terms of fuel for their vehicles and maintenance work as the need arises

Covid-19 Support

1. He supported more than 20 families with food and other cooking ingredients during the COVID-19 lockdown period in Greater Kumasi (2020)
Support to the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
1. He is a Member of the NPP Medical Team in Ashanti Regionfrom 2020 till date.
2. He is aUnit Committee Member in Atwima Manhyia Electoral Area from 2020 till date.
3. He paid transportation cost of Royal Ann College of Health Students andSHS students totaling 163 totravel to their registration centres to vote for H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and the NPP MPs during the 2020elections.
4. He was a coordinator for Fund Raising (Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency) during the 2020Elections.
5. He is a financier of Atwima Manhyia Electoral Area during 2020 Elections.
6. He financed Atwima Manhyia Electoral Area during the new voter registration exercise for election2020.
7. He supported financially Atwima Youth for Anhwere (AYA) in the 2020 elections
8. He is a patron and financier of Atwima Manhyia NPP Youth Wing Association from 2016 till date.
9. He provided financial support to the TESCON of the University of Education Winneba, Kumasi Campus in 2016.
10. He served as an Executive Member of University of Education, Winneba, Kumasi Campus TESCON in2016.
11. He is a Founder, Patron and Financier of Royal Ann College of Health TESCON from 2014 till date.
12. Has been supporting NPP faithfuls in Tertiary and Secondary Education from 2016 till date.
13. He adopted two polling stations financially in the constituency during the 2016 General Election.
John Kwame Duodu has been a staunch member of the NPP from 21st August, 2013 till date.
