Government Set To Announce The Price Of Ghana’s Cashew In December  – Mr. Williams Quaitoo

The CEO for Tree Crop Development Authority, Mr Williams Quaitoo has stated that, minimum fix price for cashew production in 2021-2022 cashew season will be announced by the agriculture ministry in December this Year.

 

He said, all important factors to be considered in arriving of cashew Price have been defined by expert hence the reveal of the cashew price. He has advised farmers to dry their cashew nut before selling it to buyers because cashew nut with moisture content of more than 10% will not be purchased.

 

He made This assertion at the annual conference and inauguration ceremony of the cashew Traders and Exporters Association Ghana at Sunyani, the Bono regional Capital.

 

 

 

 

The member of Parliament for Jaman North constituency, hon Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick pleaded with the government to give critical attention to cashew production and cashew growing areas to facilitate the cashew production.

 

 

He said the roads in cashew growing areas are in deplorable State hence the need for government and the tree Crop development authority to support the cashew growing areas in road construction.

 

 

 

The Omanhene of Dwenem Traditional Council, Nana Bofobene IV express his gratitude for the authority and praised them for the initiatives being put in place for the betterment of cashew production. He also pleaded with the authority not to politicized the pricing of cashew this time of the season because farmers are hungry for fix price of cashew production.
