The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGs) in a meeting with the Scholarship Secretariat of Ghana, has been able to secure slots for NUGS to have representation on the District Selection Committee of the Scholarship Secretariat.
The President of the National Union of Ghana students, Mr. Dennis Appiah Larbi-Ampofo in his presentation stated “students remain the primary stakeholders in Education and it is necessary they are made a part of the decision making process at all levels.
Managers of our education must make it their priority to ensure representation of every Ghanaian student, STUDENTS MUST MATTER” he added.
The Registrar of Scholarships stated that he is more than happy to work hand in hand with NUGS to ensure the scheme gets better.
This Development is seen as a huge step in ensuring effective representation of students at all levels.
H. E Dennis Appiah Larbi-Ampofo added “my commitment remains that every student of Ghana regardless of his or her location or background must be heard and NUGS must be there to speak for them”.
This arrangement was concluded at a meeting at the Scholarship Secretariat between the two institutions on 29th April, 2022 and will see NUGS appoint about 230 of it members to sit on the District Selection Committee.
The leadership of NUGS also thanked the Registrar for his leadership to the Secretariat and the decentralization of the scheme to the various districts.
