Central Region: Policewoman At Checkpoint Crushed To Death On Kasoa-Apam Highway

A 29-year-old female police officer, Comfort Freby who was stationed at a police checkpoint on the Kasoa to Apam Highway in the Central Region has been crushed to death by a car.

 

 

The incident happened on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, around 3:30 am.

 

The driver of the speeding Toyota vehicle with registration number GS 4746-20 is said to have lost control of his vehicle when he arrived at the checkpoint and rammed into the deceased, killing her on the spot.

 

The suspect driver, according to Police, failed to stop and sped off.

The news of the death of the cop has thrown her colleague police officers into a state of shock and mourning.

They disclosed that the barrier was erected just last week in response to a series of robberies on the highway.

 

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the Central Regional Police Command led by COP Nathan Kofi Boakye has paid a visit to the deceased’s home to express their condolences to the bereaved family and pledged to support the family during the funeral.
