Achiase District Fire Commander Warns Against Substandard Electrical Cables

The Achiase District Fire Commander, DO2 Kwakye Addo, has cautioned the public against using cheap, substandard electrical cables in buildings, citing the significant risk of domestic fire outbreaks. He emphasized that prioritizing fire safety is crucial to preventing loss of life and investments.

Akyem Achiase fire officers celebrated International Firefighters’ Day by honoring the service of firefighters and educating residents on fire safety measures.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of fire safety and prevention.

DO2 Kwakye Addo urged stakeholders in the housing industry to prioritize fire safety in their projects, warning that using substandard electrical cables can have devastating consequences. He lamented that some builders opt for cheaper, substandard cables due to price differences, compromising safety.

The Fire Commander emphasized that safety should always take precedence over cost considerations. He called on the public to take proactive measures to prevent fires and ensure a safe environment.

DO2 Kwakye Addo cautioned the public against attacking fire personnel or vandalizing their equipment, particularly in emergency situations. He emphasized the importance of cooperation and support for firefighters in their critical work.
