Parliamentary Primaries: I Will Pay Delegates In Dollars; I Have Enough In My Accounts – NPP MP Assures

The Member of Parliament for Bibiani Anhweaso Bekwai, Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng, has announced his desire to seek re-election for another term in 2024.

He made this declaration after some NPP delegates in Bibiani Anhweaso Bekwae wondered if the sitting member of Parliament would run for office again.

In an interview, the legislator made it clear that he would be willing to run in the forthcoming New Patriotic Party primaries in 2024.

He states that he has sufficiently set aside cash reserves in his account for the primaries.

“I have well-prepared myself because I am aware that many individuals have plans to challenge me”, he stated

In comparison to other NPP parliamentary candidate hopefuls in the constituency, he said he would pay more money to the delegates.

He says that 1,500 delegates received a minimum payment of GHC 3,000 in last year’s parliamentary primaries but in the next primaries will be compensated in USD.

“I have already secured the funding for the primaries, and it is in dollars. The delegates can take it from me that any amount of money they (aspirants) will pay, I will pay more than that”, the incumbent MP said.
